GLWA COO Elected to AWWA Board of Directors

The Great Lakes Water Authority would like to congratulate Cheryl Porter, Chief Operating Officer-Water & Field Services, on being elected Director-at-Large for the American Water Works Association (AWWA).

The AWWA is a scientific and educational association founded to improve water quality and supply. It has a membership of 3,900 utilities and nearly 50,000 individual members. The organization’s Board of Directors consists of at least one director elected from each of the 43 AWWA state sections, six of whom serve as Vice Presidents, and four of whom serve as Directors-at-Large. Cheryl is one of the four Directors-at-Large.

Cheryl is a passionate advocate for the water sector whose desire to see it advance and have its story told is witnessed in all she does here at GLWA.

We are proud of her and know that she will use her knowledge, skills and abilities to improve our sector and all many facets of life that it impacts.
