A Decade of Dedication

The Great Lakes Water Authority’s first 10 years represent a decade full of building, progress, and leadership. Following GLWA’s stand-up as a regional water authority in 2016, the organization set out to establish a collaborative environment for communities, partner organizations, and water sector counterparts in its service area and across the country. And most importantly, GLWA immediately began to assemble a dedicated team of water and wastewater professionals passionate about serving their community every day.

A Decade of Dedication is the story of the Great Lakes Water Authority, from formation to future. Told through the lens of leadership team members who have been with the organization since day one, GLWA board members, and the federal judge who served as a judicial mediator during the stand-up, this narrative walks the audience through the beginnings of a regional water authority set to become a Utility of the Future.

“The first 10 years of operation at the Great Lakes Water Authority have been about change – of culture and of how we do business.” – Cheryl Porter, COO, Water Operating Services
