Downriver Water Main
The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) will install a new 42-inch diameter water transmission main along Inkster Road from Pennsylvania Road to Wick Road.
Construction of the project is expected to begin in spring 2026 and be completed in 2028. Once completed, the new transmission main will create a loop within the water system. This loop will lower the risk of water service interruptions for communities like Romulus, Taylor, Huron Township, Brownstown Township, Westland, and other neighboring communities. GLWA currently provides water service to these communities from a single, non-looped transmission main.
