Public Notice regarding GLWA’s June 15 Capital Planning Committee meeting
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: On October 14, 2020, the State of Michigan enacted certain amendments to Michigan’s Open Meetings Act (SB1108), allowing remote telephonic and electronic participation in public meetings and hearings for public bodies subject to the Open Meetings Act during certain state or local emergencies. At this time, the State of Michigan, Department of Health and Human Services, as well as other local health departments within the GLWA service area have declared emergencies related to the risk of infection associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting of the GLWA Capital Planning Committee scheduled for June 15, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. will be held telephonically and through electronic conferencing. Members of the public who wish to attend this meeting by telephone can do so in the following manner:
Call-In Number: 1-313-771-3116
Conference ID: 755 221 838#
There will be no direct public comment during this meeting. However, members of the public may provide written comments to the committee by emailing those comments to CEO@glwater.org on or before 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021 and should reference “June 15, 2021 Capital Planning Committee” in the subject line of the e-mail.
If a member of the public requires accommodation due to a disability, please contact CEO@glwater.org or (844) 455-GLWA (4592) not less than 72 hours prior to the date of the meeting.
The public is advised that although meetings of GLWA’s Capital Planning Committee are typically held in conformity with the Open Meetings Act, The Capital Planning Committee is a sub-quorum advisory committee to the GLWA Board of Directors and therefore not a “public body” required to meet publicly or adhere to that Act. (See OAG Opinion No. 6935, April 2,1997)
