This Order allows public meetings of public bodies subject to the Open Meetings Act to be held electronically, including by two-way telephonic conference.

On March 23, 2020, Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued Executive Order No. 2020-21 requiring Michigan residents “to suspend activities that are not necessary to sustain or protect life.”

The meeting of the GLWA Legal Committee scheduled for September 23, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. will be held telephonically. Members of the public who wish to attend this meeting by telephone can do so in the following manner:

Call-In Number:   1-313-771-3116

Conference ID:      417802017

There will be no public comment or active participation during this meeting. However, members of the public may provide written comments to the committee by emailing those comments to on or before 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 and should reference “September 23, 2020 “Legal Committee” in the subject line of the e-mail.

The public is advised that although meetings of GLWA’s Legal Committee are typically held in conformity with the Open Meetings Act, The Legal Committee is a sub-quorum advisory committee to the GLWA Board of Directors and therefore not a “public body” required to meet publicly or adhere to that Act. (See OAG Opinion No. 6935, April 2,1997.)
