Prior to assuming this position in August 2017, Mr. Brown served in Wayne County’s Corporation Counsel Department. On January 1, 2015, County Executive Warren C. Evans first appointed Mr. Brown to serve as the Chief-Assistant Corporation Counsel for the Real Estate, Tax and Public Services Team. The following year, Executive Evans then appointed Mr. Brown to serve as the Deputy Corporation Counsel. As the Deputy Corporation Counsel, Mr. Brown managed over 30 attorneys and represented all Wayne County’s elected officials, employees and departments. During his tenure at Wayne County, Mr. Brown worked on several key initiatives, including Executive Evans’ county reorganization plan, the disposition of the County’s excess real property assets, and the negotiation of contract renewals at significant cost savings without compromising service delivery to County residents.

Mr. Brown began his legal career at Plunkett Cooney in 2005. At Plunkett Cooney, he represented Fortune 500 companies and several municipalities, including the City of Detroit, Macomb County, Oakland County, Macomb County, the City of Wyandotte and the City of Oak Park in state and federal courts.

Mr. Brown is a graduate of the University of Delaware and Howard University School of Law. He currently serves as a member of the Wolverine Bar Association and Foundation’s Board of Directors. For the 2015-2016 bar year, Mr. Brown served as the Association and Foundation’s President. He also serves as a member of the Rose Hill Center’s Board of Directors.
